Careers at Caption Glass™
Join us in building technology that breaks down communication barriers and empowers the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
Why Join Caption Glass?
Mission-Driven Impact
Every line of code you write, every design you create, and every problem you solve directly impacts 48 million Americans with hearing loss. As a CODA-founded company, we deeply understand the communication barriers our users face daily. Your work here isn't just a job—it's breaking down walls that have existed for generations.
Build the Future of Communication
Work at the intersection of AR, AI, and real-time speech processing. We're tackling challenges like <200ms transcription latency, offline mode capabilities, and battery optimization that no one has solved before. If you love hard technical problems with real human impact, you'll thrive here.
Accessibility-First Culture
We practice what we preach. Our team includes deaf and hard-of-hearing members, ASL interpreters are provided for all meetings, and we're building a workplace where everyone can fully participate. Join a team that celebrates different perspectives and communication styles.
Growing Our Team
We're Pre-Seed but Ambitious
While we're not actively hiring for specific roles yet, we're always looking for exceptional people who share our vision. We're particularly interested in:
Founding Engineers
Full-stack generalists who can own entire features from concept to deployment. Experience with AR/VR, real-time systems, or accessibility tech is a huge plus.
ML/AI Engineers
Experts in speech recognition, NLP, and on-device ML optimization. Help us achieve industry-leading latency and accuracy.
Hardware Engineers
Experience with AR displays, battery optimization, or consumer electronics. Help us build glasses people actually want to wear.

What We Offer
As an early-stage startup, we can't compete with big tech perks—but we offer something more valuable: the chance to build something that matters from the ground up.
Meaningful Equity
Real ownership in the company. As an early team member, your equity package will be substantial. We believe those who help build Caption Glass should share in its success.
Remote-First Culture
Work from anywhere. We care about impact, not hours in a seat. Occasional team meetups in the SF Bay Area for those who can make it.
Learning Budget
$1,000/year for courses, conferences, or books. Plus, learn ASL on us—it's not required, but many team members find it enriching.
Hardware & Tools
Top-tier laptop of your choice and a $500 home office stipend. When we ship, you'll be among the first to get Caption Glass for you and your family.
Time Off
Flexible PTO—we trust you to manage your time. Take the breaks you need to do your best work. Minimum 2 weeks encouraged.
Health Coverage
Health insurance stipend until we can offer group coverage. We'll help you find the best plan for your needs.
Our Culture
Built on Empathy
Our founder grew up as a CODA, bridging two worlds daily. This experience shapes everything we do. We don't just build for the deaf community—we build with them. User feedback isn't a checkbox; it's our north star.
Move Fast, Test Faster
We ship early and often to real users. Perfect is the enemy of good when people need our product yesterday. We celebrate learning from failures as much as successes—every iteration gets us closer to changing lives.
Radical Transparency
Everyone has access to our metrics, runway, and strategic decisions. We share the good, the bad, and the uncertain. When you join Caption Glass, you're not an employee—you're a co-founder in spirit.
Work-Life Integration
We're building life-changing technology, but not at the cost of our own lives. We work hard during focused sprints, then recharge. Burnout helps no one. Sustainable pace, extraordinary outcomes.
Think You'd Fit In?
We're not looking for perfect resumes. We're looking for people who light up when they talk about our mission. If that's you, we should talk.
